This is a simple bread with nothing in it but natural and organic wheat and rye flours, deep well water, and sea salt. It's a bread that goes with just about everything. It's light enough to convince those that don't like sourdoughs that they just might, and tasty enough to satisfy those that like a true, artisan, sourdough taste.
This bread is our family favorite from the oldest to the youngest. We enjoy giving this bread to small children whose parents say they are fussy eaters. Almost always the parents are pleasantly surprised when their children ask for more. We created this bread for my father, a German immigrant, who complained that it was hard to find good bread. This sourdough bread has his seal of approval.
7 Grain Sourdough Bread A hearty, moist bread with lots of whole grain goodness. We use natural and organic wheat, rye, barley, corn, flax, sesame seeds and oats. This round bread makes a wonderful sandwich or toast. We spent a considerable amount of time working on the whole grain ratios in this bread and we think that you'll appreciate that with every bite. It's especially good in a grilled sandwich. |
100% Whole Wheat Sourdough Bread - 100% Organic! This is a bread for those who want real, whole grain taste in a sourdough loaf. We use nothing but Maine or Quebec Grown wheat, water, and salt. It has a wonderful, fresh, wheat taste- full of whole grain goodness without being too heavy. It's a favorite here as toast with jam. |
Organic White Sourdough BreadMade with 100% organic flour and deep well water. |
Bavarian Pretzels![]() A traditional German favorite that tastes as it should. Soft and chewy on the inside and a little crispy on the outside. Great with anything- jam and butter, mustard, cheese, or wurst. |
Sesame Sunflower Flax Seed Bread![]() Sesame, sunflower and flax seed in a rye wheat dough. There's plenty of crunch, with a delightful nutty flavor. Mmmmmm. We freshly roast the sunflower and sesame seeds just before baking and soak the flax seeds to increase moistness in the bread in order to release the healthful oils in the flax. This bread is quickly becoming one of our best sellers at the markets. With all the health benefits we've learned about flax and other seeds, this bread is sure to please. |
Foccacia Bread![]() Here's a traditional Italian favorite with our own twist. We take a wheat, rye sourdough that we drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with sea salt and asiago cheese, and finish with red onions and red peppers. Eat it cold or reheat and dip in some nice extra virgin olive oil. Buon Apetito! |
Jewish Rye with Caraway Bread![]() The moist, earthy taste of rye sourdough combined with the tang and zest of caraway make this bread a delight. This loaf, which my friend Barbara ate and critiqued repeatedly without complaining, took about a year to perfect! We think that you'll like what our efforts and Barbara's palate have provided. It has just enough caraway without being overpowering. It's great with ham and cheese- not kosher, but delicious just the same. |
Dinner Roll Bread![]() This bread is an adaptation of a recipe that my father in law, a successful longtime restaurateur and baker gave to me. It is made with natural flours, organic evaporated cane juice, corn oil, sea salt and yeast. It has a rich golden crust with a light tender crumb that makes this as universal and delicious as you can find. Take the loaf and reheat for about 10 minutes in a 400 degree oven, grab a stick of butter (maybe a pound if you've got friends around) and enjoy! |
Wheat Sandwich Bread Here's a delicious version of good, old fashioned wheat bread that works well with anything. This bread contains organic flours and local honey. What more can you say about this staple bread? Your mom will be happy if you eat this one! |
Anadama BreadThis is a good old New England bread that you will remember if you've ever enjoyed it in the past. Often folks are introduced to this sweet, dense bread by a grandparent. It contains natural, organic flour, organic Maine corn meal and molasses. If you like molasses in your bread then you'll like this one. |
Oatmeal Bread You can say the same about this moist, tasty sandwich loaf as you can about anadama. A special old fashioned loaf that reminds of Grandma’s home baked bread. It makes a nice sandwich or toast and for us is a favorite for breakfast with butter and jam. |
Cinnamon Raisin or Plain Cinnamon Swirl Bread![]() One of our customers describes this bread as "just like a doughnut". Sweet and light, this bread makes the best french toast that you've ever eaten- especially with real Maine Maple syrup. Plain or toasted it'll be a hit, too. The only problem is figuring out when to stop! |
